La Belle Dame Sans Merci


La Belle Dame Sans Merci is a popular Balled,written by John Keats. John Keats was an English Romantic poet. The Sensuousness is a striking feature of his entirepoetry. John Keats is the worshiper of beauty and finds beauty everywhere.

                  The poem tells of the sadness and misery of misplaced love . The title of the poem "The beautiful woman without mercy . It highlights the story of a knight's unfruitful love . The poet met a pale and sorrowful knight towards the end of outumn . The knight was wandering alone in the unsuitable weather.
          
                   The poet asked him the reason of his sad condition. The knight said that he had met a Lady in the field who was a model of beauty. She looked like a fairy with her long hair and a graceful gait her eyes were big and beautiful . The knight made ornaments of flower for her and spent the whole day with her on his horse. Her eyes were expressing true love for the knight, During the horse ride she song a fairy's Song.

                   The knight loved abeautiful lady. She also responded to his love. She took him to her cave and entertained him nicely. She wept bitterly to show her love for the knight . She sent the knight to sleep . He dreamt of pale kings, Princes and Warriors. They had starved lips and looked as pale as death. They told him that the beautiful lady was merciless, deceptive and cruel. She trapped kings , Princes and knights with her Charms. It was in her nature to do so . They warned the knight to beware of her.

                  The knight wake up all of a sudden and found himself alone on the cold hillside. There was no cave and no lady. He had been deserted by the merciless  lady. Since then, he had been trying to solve the mystery. He had lost his peace of mind and he had been suffering as a result of her merciless nature.

                 In short , The poem is a wonderful. There is mystery and magic in it.
